Are We There Yet?
By Roy Dudgeon
Every time I open my email, one of my interest groups has sent me their latest update on the pending 2012 event. Many of these are scholarly and cite references from world renowned researchers and authors. Theories range from various earth upheavals to the predictions of Nostradamus and Edgar Cayce. Of course, the Mayan calendar is the focal point for the majority of this work. Theories vary from the complete annihilation of the human race to a mild ripple in the earth’s surface. Others see the complete collapse of the world economic system (which appears to be happening now), the failure of democracy (ditto), and the return of a deity (pick one).
On the other side of the coin, other folks have a completely different take. They see Atlantis rising from the ocean, alien beings returning to the planet to check up on the life they originally planted here, and a new higher life form evolving.
Although I personally don’t subscribe to any one theory, the one I’m closest to involves the shift in consciousness that will take place around the end of 2012. I believe that the groundwork is already in place for our next step in the spiritual evolution of the human race. Folks who have been working on themselves to improve their relationship with the Universe will see the biggest change not only in themselves but in other like-minded people. This will be a change for the betterment of all mankind although the majority of the Earth’s population will not be spiritually conscious enough to recognize it.
What will these changes be? Let me know your thoughts. Please call or email me or fell free to discuss at the next meeting.
One final note: thanks to all the volunteers that worked so hard at the September meeting. Raymon Grace was very appreciative of his reception and as a result is presenting a two-day workshop on Nov. 5 & 6 in Hendersonville. Contact me at 828 458-5675 or dudge@att.net for details (this is not a Chapter event).

Chapter Elections in November
Two officers will be elected at the Chapter meeting on November 19.
The Secretary maintains the various email and snail mail lists, takes minutes of meetings and handles correspondence. Experience
with Excel is needed. The term is two years. (Nancy Baumgarten has been acting as unofficial Secretary in the interim, and will be
nominated for the position.)
There are two at-large members on the Board serving staggered two-year terms. One of these is up for election in November. The
at-large director offers advice on speaker selection and the “nuts and bolts” of chapter operation, and is generally a long-time
Chapter member.
Join the national ASD
The Chapter encourages all local chapter members to join our parent organization. Dues are $50 annually. You get a subscription to The American Dowser, a discount on the cost of the national convention, and a bookstore discount. www.dowsers.org.
DVD Recordings Discontinued
Because of the cost and difficulties involved and because very few recordings are sold, the Board has decided to discontinue DVD and audio recordings of presentations at chapter meetings. DVDs of past programs, from June 2009 through February 2011, are still available on wncdowsers.org and at the book sales table at chapter meetings. Cost is $12.
Raymon Grace Workshop
Raymon is returning to our area for a weekend workshop entitled Advanced Dowsing, Healing and Self-empowerment. It will be held
November 5 – 6, 2011, 9 am – 5 pm at the Quality Inn (exit 49A from I26), Hendersonville, NC.
printable flyer
Workshop fee is $250. Send $100 deposit check to Raymon Grace, 29501 North Fork River, Saltville, VA 24370.

Interspecies Communication: Bee Whispering
By Chiwa
Four years ago in the Spring I finished taking bee school from our local Buncombe County Bee Chapter. Andrew and I bought boxes,
put them together, painted them with some biogeometric friendly designs, made a bee area (we found where the bees would be most
healthy by dowsing), encircled it with electric fence (to keep the bears honest), and ordered our bees. I and other bee
keeping friends traveled to GA to pick up our bees a week later.
Upon arrival home, Andrew put the new boxes into their bee space,
while Krys Crimi took pictures of the whole event.
The pictures that night showed a huge benevolent force (our first recognition
of orbs) hovering behind Andrew as he welcomed our new insect friends onto our urban permaculture site. Auspicious beginnings.
Each evening as the bees would settle in for the night, I would go out and sing them a little song of welcome - bee bonding I guess.

Pest Control Options
By Marge Bastian
Slugs: Save all your egg shells, crush them up and in the spring spread them all around the hosta shoots that are coming up. This really helps to keep the slugs from eating holes in the leaves.
Fruit flies: Windex will kill them.
Insect Bites: If you get bit, put a penny on with tape. Best if put on as soon as possible after a bite. Works on most bites. Usually it won't take longer than 15 minutes if it is a new bite.
