ill titleWho We Are and What We're About

Dowsing is a developed skill which focuses normal human intuition. By linking the conscious mind with our total subconscious awarenesses through the use of simple tools, dowsing practitioners can locate underground water; find buried pipes and wires; search for lost items, pets or people; use informational dowsing to obtain answers to personal questions; identify geopathic (unhealthy) man-made and natural energies; and obtain reliable information about distant sites and events. Dowsing techniques are useful for any type of search or investigation.

The Appalachian Chapter of the American Society of Dowsers is a regional dowsing group centered in the Western North Carolina mountains around Asheville with members in five adjacent states.

The chapter was chartered in 1981 as a non-profit educational organization, dedicated to public education about dowsing and intuitive abilities, providing public lectures and training classes covering the broad scope of dowsing techniques.

Our Mission

The Appalachian Chapter, American Society of Dowsers, (the “Appalachian Dowsers”) is a regional dowsing group centered in the Western North Carolina mountains around Asheville with members in five adjacent states.

The chapter is organized as a non-profit educational organization, dedicated to public education about dowsing and intuitive abilities, providing public lectures and training classes covering the broad scope of dowsing techniques.

From our Appalachian Chapter By-Laws (1987 revision) - The purpose of this chapter shall be:

1. to promote and foster communication and fellowship among individuals interested in dowsing.

2. to develop effective responsible individuals devoted to investigating study and application of dowsing.

3. to encourage the application of methods of scientific inquiry to dowsing.

4. to offer evidence of dowsings' usefulness to man.

5. to promote relationships with organizations having similar purposes.
